NEW SEMINARS & WORKSHOPS

InfoComm Academy is all about bringing you the best and latest information from the industry's top experts. This year, there are more than 60 new seminars and workshops in the InfoComm Academy. Here's just a few of the new seminars and workshops you'll find on Wednesday, June 7: Principles of Arrayed Loudspeakers for Large Venues taught by Jerrold Stevens, CTS, of Pelton Marsh Kinsella; Troubleshooting Audio Conferencing Systems taught by Craig Richardson, Ph.D., of Polycom; and HDV and Supporting Storage Technologies taught by Sheldon Gordon of Video Equipment Rentals. On Thursday, Greg Maderic of Control Concepts will teach Theories Behind Interface Designs that Work; Sean Lessman from TANDBERG will lead Security Concerns When Deploying IP Video Networks; and Ed Mazzuchelli of IDEAL Industries will discuss testing technologies and methodology in Theory of Testing. LOUDSPEAKER AND SPEECH INTELLIGIBILITY WORKSHOP

On Friday, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., discover the proper usage and attributes of various methodologies and measurements for loudspeakers in this workshop presented by Technology Visions. You'll learn how to get the best possible performance and higest intelligibility from these systems. Three different loudspeaker systems comprised of different physical components and approaches will be installed. Each system's speech performance will be measured using various measurement systems, each capable of producing Speech Transmission Index (SDI) data. Measurement systems from Ivie Technologies, Sencore Electronics, and ADA Anhert-Easera are scheduled for use. Instructors include Ivan Schwartz, Peter Mapp, Steven J. Thorburn, PE, CTS-D, CTS-I, and Frederick Ampel.
