NETWORK COMPUTING

As the worlds of AV and IT rapidly converge, Network Computing wants to ensure you're at the ready. Its AV-IT Educational Series was developed cooperatively by InfoComm and Network Computing to assist the AV professional with the core basics needed to collaboratively work in the IT realm; and vice versa. Network Computing offers these one- and two-day courses titled, Building, Deploying and Securing Voice Over IP; Computer Networking Fundamentals for the AV Professional; Computer Network Security for the AV Professional; and Optimizing Video Performance on an Enterprise Network.

IMCCA

Not only is IMCCA offering seminars and a Super Tuesday session through the InfoComm Academy program, but on Thursday, they'll have two special sessions, as well. Thursday's IMCCA Lunch and Learn will feature a panel discussion about collaborative technologies. Register for the IMCCA Collaborative Conferencing Users Group Forum, which is a one-day event that includes the lunch and learn session plus a networking reception. Discussion topics include the state of the videoconferencing industry and a presentation of select technologies. IMCCA also sponsors the Collaborative Conferencing Pavilion found on the show floor.

EDUCOMM

InfoComm 06 welcomes the return of the co-located conference EduComm. POPAI, an international trade association for the marketing at-retail industry, will be among those leading classes this year in the InfoComm Academy. The association will be offering several workshops devoted to digital signage, including: The Digital Signage Market Opportunity; Digital Signage Hardware Selection and Deployment; and Digital Signage Content Management Software and Data Transport on Wednesday. And on Thursday, there's The Importance of Digital Signage Content; Measurement and Metrics of Digital Signage Advertising; and Integrating Digital Signage into Your Marketing Mix. These basic courses are a great way to break into the fast-growing market arena of digital signage and learn from the ground up.

CMMA

The Communications Media Management Association (CMMA) is the premier professional organization for people who manage the creation, distribution, and utilization of communications media for corporations, non-profits, government agencies, and educational institutions. The CMMA Management Institute is offering three seminars with the InfoComm Academy on Thursday, June 8: Marketing the In-House Media Department, The Case for Technology Investments, and Managing In-House AV Construction. Seminar leaders are experienced managers of in-house media departments. InfoComm registrants are invited to stop by the CMMA Leadership Lounge in room 101 to meet and network with other media managers, ask advice, and learn more about CMMA.
