SK-HD1000
Available toward the end of the year, the Hitachi SK-HD1000 HDTV digital production camera series employs 2/3in. CCD imagers with full-raster HDTV pixels (1920x1080 or 1280x720). Specs include F11 sensitivity at 2000 lux and greater than 56dB for signal-to-noise ratio. In studio configuration, the camera uses hybrid optical fiber cable for transmission. The camera’s two-piece body design means that it will also be compatible with future backs for the camera, including a triax back, a wireless back, and an HDR (field recorder) back. Hitachi’s current Z-DR1 recorder is SD-only, so it’s incompatible with the upcoming SK-HD1000, but an HD version is in the works; it will use the same Mediapacs in hard-disk and solid-state forms.
