Manage Color from the Start
It's a controversial idea to some, but color grading is coming to the set. The aim? Giving the director and DP control of the color scheme from the beginning on out. Iridas is one proponent; with the release of SpeedGrade OnSet Professional Edition this past November, the company brings its increasingly popular look management suite to realtime, on-set production. Features include mask tools, split-screen modes for A/B comparisons, image scrubbing, scene-based shot organization, and support for calibration LUTs.
