Disk-based playback

Since their introduction at last year's NAB, Panasonic's iDVR100 and iDVR200 HD MPEG servers have made their mark in both public display applications and in Hollywood as a solution for the playback of digital dailies. The servers have a built-in drive that plays up to 30 minutes of 19Mbps MPEG-2 video from DVD-R or DVD-RAM disks. Via Ethernet they can be networked to distribute video to other iDVRs or over an IP network. The iDVR200, a rackmount version of the desktop-based 100, features a 4 RU frame designed for additional internal hard-disk storage.
Price: $3,795 for iDVR100; $3,995 and up for iDVR200
