Furman Sound Names Dave Keller Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing
Jun 7, 2005 3:05 PM
Dave Keller has been named executive vice president of sales and marketing at Furman Sound. He assumes the role after having been with the AC power conditioning supplier since July 2004, when he joined as vice president of the consumer electronics division, business development, and international sales.
Keller's responsibilities will include overseeing the sales and marketing functions for Furman's consumer, professional, and international divisions.
"Dave has done an outstanding job of raising the level of awareness about Furman Sound in new markets, and it makes sense at this stage in our growth to task him with coordinating the sales and marketing efforts of our three divisions moving forward," says Jim Bonfiglio, president and CEO of Furman Sound. "Our products and technology have a wide appeal across most professional and many consumer audio and video applications. Dave's job is to make sure we reach the people who can benefit from Furman Sound products."
Keller's 31 years of industry experience have spanned CATV, professional, and consumer AV markets. In consumer product management roles, he most recently served as president and CEO of Digital Envoy, a provider of IP-address-based geographic intelligence, and previously was COO of Escient, a provider of Internet home-entertainment products. He is also a former board member of CEDIA. On the professional side—cable, broadcast, and pro AV markets—his experience includes senior management roles at StarNet Development Group, Dynatech Video Group, Quanta Corporation, Texscan, and RCA.
Keller comments: "Furman Sound is in a great position right now. At a time when professional and consumer AV users are just realizing that they have to do something about the very real AC power problems they are facing, we've launched our next-generation technologies that solve these issues better than anything else available. I'm looking forward to introducing our latest products to a much larger family of users."
All products from Furman Sound address the needs of AV applications that are faced with the reality of the extreme noise and erratic performance on today's overtaxed AC power grids. Such unreliable power can threaten not only the integrity of the video and audio signals, but also the AV equipment itself.
Furman Sound's latest products, which incorporate the company's proprietary SMP+ (Series Multi-Stage Protection Plus) technology, can be seen at Furman's booth (#1374) at InfoComm 2005 at the Las Vegas Convention Center from June 8-10.
