OAP Audio Products of Buford, Ga., has introduced the new SM-281 stage monitor loudspeaker system, proving once again that you can live loud and still keep a low profile. The SM-281 is a two-way, bracket-mountable stage monitor with an ultra-low profile and low line of sight. It was developed for applications that required a low-profile, high-output stage monitor with remarkable sonic quality.
The system stands less than 10in. high, which makes it ideally suited for uses in houses of worship, boardrooms, classrooms, restaurants, lounges, and live stage applications. The versatility of the SM-281 is demonstrated by an optional handle for ease of movement, as well as an MB-822 mounting bracket that allows the SM-281 to be used in a host of near-field applications.
The SM-281 incorporates two 8in. direct radiators that extend low frequencies and a 1in. throat mylar diaphragm driver coupled to a 60x90 degrees constant dispersion rotateable horn that extends high frequencies. The loudspeaker utilizes a specifically designed integrated crossover in order to provide a full-range loudspeaker.
The enclosure has a power-handling capability of 325W of continuous program power, 97.3dB sensitivity, and angles of 35 degrees and 55 degrees. The enclosure is constructed of 3/4in. void-free epoxy PC board and comes in black or white textured gloss enamel paint with an optional weatherizing package.
