The course for operators will be held on Nov. 7-8 for $500, and the one for technicians will be held on Nov. 9-10 for $600. Interested parties can take both classes for $1,050.
Course attendees will receive a complimentary pass to the ETS-LDI Exhibit Hall Nov. 11-13 providing access to show events including:
- "Hands-Up, Hands-On" Sound Mixing Workshop on the exhibit hall floor all three days
- ET Live Nov. 11-13, open during regular exhibit hall hours

- "Show Control Extravaganza" Nov. 12 (9:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.).
All Syn-Aud-Con course attendees will also be invited to attend two 90-minute seminars, "Room Acoustics and Sound Reinforcement" (11:00 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.) and "Loudspeaker Specifications" (2:00-3:30 p.m.), presented by Pat Brown on Nov. 11 as part of the ETS-LDI audio track.
They will also be able to attend the annual awards presentation on Nov. 12 at 6:00 p.m. and the "Designer Roundtable" on Nov. 13 from 9:00-11:00 a.m.
ETS/LDI's second annual ET Live outdoor exhibits feature a must-see (and hear) live entertainment demonstration of concert sound products in a real-world performance stage environment. ET Live, available free to all ETS/LDI attendees, offers a unique opportunity for customers interested in purchasing a professional concert sound system and staging to view and listen to numerous product demonstrations in an outdoor, real-world performance environment. For a full list and description of sponsoring companies go to www.ets-ldi.com/conference/et_live/index.html.
Devoid of the indoor limitations of room size, reverberation reflections, frequency build-up, etc., ET Live's loudspeaker manufacturer sponsors will fly their line-array speakers, console manufacturers will set up at their FOH position, staging companies will present multiple concert stage configurations (from 32'x32' up to 60'x40'), and large-screen monitors and lights will illuminate the performance. Each stage will start off its demonstration by playing the same pre-recorded track and then feature a live performance in a round-robin format at 30-minute intervals. Demonstrations run from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. every day, with each stage performing twice daily on Nov. 11 and Nov. 12 and once on Nov. 13 from 10:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Expanded Professional Audio Education at ETS-LDI
In addition to the outdoor presentation at ET Live, the educational segment of the ETS/LDI/ET Live show will offer an expanded lineup of professional audio education seminars. In addition to Syn-Aud-Con's seminars, "Sound Reinforcement for Operators" (Nov. 7-8) and "Sound Reinforcement for Technicians" (Nov. 9-10), the show will provide a full menu of live sound conference sessions on Nov. 11-12, including "What to Know When Buying a Line Array," "Connectivity in the Digital Audio Environment," "Room Acoustics and Sound Reinforcement," "Loudspeaker Specifications," "Integrating a Playback System into a Digital Audio Console," and "Eliminating Ground Loops: No More Hum and Buzz." See www.ets-ldi.com for registration information.
Also offered are specialized audio classes for house of worship venues (sponsored by Technologies for Worship magazine) along with continuous complimentary hands-on training to all attendees right on the exhibit hall floor in the "Hands-Up, Hands-On" sound mixing workshops.
