Bag End Loudspeaker Systems of Barrington, Ill., has reached agreement with The Audio Vision Network (AVN) of Alexandria, New South Wales, Australia, to be its exclusive distributor for its home theater products in Australia and New Zealand.

The joint announcement was made recently by Jim Wischmeyer, president of Bag End, and Bhaskar Eswaran, chief executive officer of AVN.

"The market for home theater products and applications has tripled in the last three years in Australia alone," Eswaran says. "After founding AVN in 2002, our research led us to build key exclusive distribution relationships with American and European companies for the Australia/New Zealand territory."

"We are building an exclusive portfolio of cutting-edge technology from the United States and Europe for Australia and New Zealand, with our full product range extending to all aspects of home entertainment," Eswaran says. "After researching the U.S. market, we determined that the critical acclaim and reputation for high quality of Bag End speaker systems products made it a company with which we wanted to establish a distribution relationship."

Currently, the company represents no less than 16 manufacturers in Australia and New Zealand, building key relationships with manufacturers and resellers on a basis of innovation, technology, and high value.

"AVN is a young, dynamic, well-managed company that has not got just 'success' written all over it, but 'great success,'"Wischmeyer says. "We are thrilled to have established a relationship with such an aggressive organization."

"We understand that retailers' success depends on their customers' experience, so we seek to integrate world leading manufacturers, distribution, value-added point-of-sales, and in-store logistics to ensure the retailer and consumer get a striking array of high-quality products from a single source and benefit from a well-coordinated marketing program," Suki Scade, AVN's marketing manager, adds.
