Elan Home Systems, a leading manufacturer of award-winning multi-room audio/video and home automation systems, announced David Moore has been promoted to the company’s product line manager for user interfaces. Bob Farinelli, Elan’s president and chief technology officer, made the announcement.

In his new capacity, Moore will serve as line manager for Elan’s broad range of user interface products, including volume controls, keypads, and in-wall, tabletop, and mobile touchpanels. In addition, he will focus on growing Elan’s Via Integration Partner (VIP) program. Moore will work closely with Elan’s integration partners and will be responsible for establishing new product integration relationships as well as oversee Elans’s libraries of infrared codes and one- and two-way serial drivers.

“This move further illustrates our strong commitment to the continued expansion of our range of user interface and product integration options for our dealers. David is well seasoned in both of these areas, having been hands-on in the field with our dealers on a daily basis, and is the perfect candidate for the job. This step will add velocity to Elan’s delivery of exiting new user interfaces as we continue to be a leading force in specialty control,” Farinelli says.

Moore holds a Bachelor of Science degree in electronics engineering, and has spent the past two years serving as a senior technical regional associate for Elan’s Southeastern territory. In this role, he oversaw in-field dealer training and technical support, as well as advanced programming and applications for a seven-state territory. Moore achieved senior regional status and is considered a super tech who was readily available to dealers in the region, which has had significant impact on the area’s growth and success.

Before joining Elan, Moore also gained real-world, hands-on experience in selling, designing, and installing home audio, video, and control products, including Elan merchandise.

“We welcome David to Elan headquarters,” says Rick Gratz, Elan’s product marketing manager. “As we continue to take our award-winning dealer setup tools, VIP Program, and user interface options to the next level to be the best in the business, David’s expertise and commitment to excellence is certain to have profound impact.”

As a result of the promotion, Elan will soon announce the company has appointed a new southeast regional technical associate, who will take over the position formerly held by Moore. In 2006, the company will also be adding a full-time engineering counterpart who will be working closely with Moore as Elan delivers additional IR and serial drivers and integration capabilities.
