MediaPointe has announced that its production capacity has reached demand on its new Digital Media Recorders (DMR), Digital Network Streaming (DNS) devices, Digital Network Printers (DNP), and Digital Video Capture (DVC) appliances. These easy-to-use, cost-effective products are designed to assist AV integrators and users with cutting-edge digital image printing, capturing, streaming, and recording with the push of a button.
"Our new teleconferencing AV-over-IP appliances target specific needs in the marketplace for sophisticated AV tools that are simple to install and use," states Mark Adams, MediaPointe's director of marketing. "They've been very well received by our customers, and we're happy to be at full production capacity."
Digital Media Recorders
The majority of today's videoconference users and administrators want to record and distribute valuable meeting material without the complexity of unnecessary media management and editing tools found in other products being offered today. The MediaPointe DMR family is specifically designed to meet this need. Each of the three new DMR products address specific needs for users, and their plug-and-play usability provides easy integration into legacy or newly built videoconferencing systems, providing simple system upgrades at a fraction of the cost of currently available equipment.
Digital Network Streaming
The DNS150 series of products features unparalleled simplicity in deployment, management, and maintenance. Built primarily for video distribution over existing networks, each device in the series provides a different AV-input source in a compact, simple, and low-cost solution. Each offers a specific input format (composite video, S-Video, or SDI video); all stream in MPEG-2, providing DVD-quality video and CD-quality stereo audio, packed in a compact, flexible "blade-based" appliance that outputs over a 10/100 Ethernet network.
The DNS200 high-resolution streamer will stream high-resolution video content with the full integrity of the original image, including fonts, color depth, and resolution from composite video to XGA in high-quality MPEG-4 format.
Digital Network Printers
Printing out meeting collateral and camera views no longer requires expensive or exotic equipment; the DNP series allows any onscreen image to be captured and immediately delivered to any existing network printer. There are two versions of MediaPointe DNPs available, depending upon which applications are employed during meetings, presentations, or videoconferences. The DNP100 is used for standard video images such as camera views or DVD/VHS video content, and the DNP200 prints high-resolution computer graphic images such as PowerPoint presentations or spreadsheets.
Digital Video Capture
Similar to the DNP printing products, the new MediaPointe DVC line captures video stills or high-resolution images, and stores up to 100 locally in a solid-state appliance. The images can then be viewed, archived, emailed, printed, and shared. Captured images can also be instantly viewed using the slide-show playback feature. Meeting participants can even get copies of the captured images instantly from the DVC front panel by downloading them onto a USB flash drive before leaving the meeting room. The DVC100 captures any onscreen video image, while the DVC200 captures high-resolution images.
