Customer Support Engineer – Media Asset Management

SUMMARY
Harris Software Systems is currently seeking a Customer
Support Engineer to work primarily throughout North America.
Primary job duties include installing Harris Media Asset Management
systems at customer sites and solving customer issues from a home
based office.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Ideal candidate will have a strong knowledge of Harris Invenio
products. Ability to learn and retain knowledge in the full line of
Harris products is a must.
An encompassing grasp of broadcast products is desired. Exemplar candidates will have a broadcast engineering background and have worked in broadcast facilities as an engineer or maintenance.
Provide technical phone support to Harris Invenio customers when not installing and upgrading systems. This is required during normal business hours and for after hour emergencies.
Candidates must demonstrate a proactive customer demeanor, be able to work under pressure and enjoy working in an independent, autonomous atmosphere.
Must be a natural U.S. citizen and have the ability to gain government security clearance.
This position requires frequent travel 50% to 75% of the time.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university is preferred
- At least 3 years experience maintaining IT systems in a corporate environment is desired.
- Advanced knowledge of Windows 2000/XP operating systems is required.
- Microsoft SQL server experience is required.
- Strong TCP-IP networking skills is required. Must have ample experience with network architectures, WANs, LANs, Switches, Routers and Hubs.
- A background in IT technology and how this technology fits together within a facility is preferred.
- A technical background with experience in computer science and/or electrical engineering. MCSP certifications are desired.
- The expertise should include familiarity with the functions of audio and video equipment as well as personal computer architecture and networking.
