Da Vinci Wins Engineering Emmy Award for Color Enhancement System

North Hollywood, CA. - In ceremonies held at the Goldenson Theatre, the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (ATAS) presented da Vinci Systems, Inc. of Ft. Lauderdale, FL the Emmy Award for Outstanding Achievement in Engineering Development for their 2K Color Enhancement System. The 2K is used by leading video postproduction facilities worldwide as the primary tool for color correcting film- and video-originated images for television. The majority of prime time programming in the U.S. is enhanced by the da Vinci 2K as is the bulk of digital cinema feature length releases along with DVD and other consumer formats.
Of the 826 da Vinci systems installed around the world, 178 are 2K's. Along with high-end post houses in the Los Angeles, New York, and Chicago markets using da Vinci almost exclusively, 2K's are installed in virtually all major international video production centers.
"Our engineering staff has worked very hard to make the 2K the finest color enhancement technology available," said Robert Silva, President of da Vinci. "We are very proud of them."

The da Vinci 2K can be seen at the International Broadcasters Conference(IBC) in Amsterdam, The Netherlands, September 14-18, 2001.
