Digital Anarchy Acquires Psunami For Adobe After Effects From Atomic Power

Digital Anarchy announced today that it has acquired and will be taking over distribution of Psunami 1.0 For After Effects. Psunami expands Digital Anarchy’s line of powerful, but inexpensive plug-ins. Developed from Areté Entertainment Inc.’s award-winning RenderWorld API, Psunami is a tool for creating photorealistic, raytraced water simulations and other 3D effects.

The agreement with Atomic Power is effective immediately and Psunami is available on the Digital Anarchy website for purchase or evaluation. Support and customer service will also be taken over by Digital Anarchy and is available either by phone or on the web.

Water And More
Psunami for After Effects is primarily designed to create water simulations. However, due to the sophisticated controls for texture mapping and geometric displacement, many other 3D effects can be achieved. Users have the ability to use multiple images or movies to displace or texture the 3D mesh that Psunami creates. The water simulation can be turned off and the displacement and texture mapping can be used to map logos to geometry, create landscapes, let a camera fly through geometry, and other 3D effects.

Of course, it can be used to create beautiful 3D water simulations. This is the effect it’s famous for, having been used in numerous feature films. It’s also what’s garnered the plug-in several awards.

OS X
Digital Anarchy is committed to supporting Apple’s new OS X and will port Psunami, along with the rest of their plug-ins, to that platform early next year.

Pricing
The list price has been dropped to $249, and is available for a limited time at $199. Owners of Digital Anarchy’s current products can get even greater discounts. It’s available for both Mac and Windows and will work with version 4.0 of After Effects or later. Demo filters, manuals, sample movies, and tutorials can be found at Digital Anarchy's website. A bundle of the complete line of Digital Anarchy filters is available for $299. The bundle includes, Elements of Anarchy: Text, Geomancy, and Psunami. All prices are for the downloadable version of Psunami with a PDF manual.
