Evolution is a powerful force. If you’ve been following the installation projector market for the past decade, you know that changes and enhancements to projection technology have come fast and furious.
It all started with the shift from CRTs to LCD technology, and along the way we’ve seen ten- and twenty-fold improvements in brightness and contrast; watched native pixel resolutions soar to SXGA (1280x1024) and beyond, and reaped the benefits of power lens functions and intelligent image scaling.
With the typical desktop/installation LCD projector rated anywhere from 3000 to 4500 lumens and larger installation LCD projectors approaching the 6000 lumens benchmark, it might seem that there are no more mountains to conquer; no new paths to blaze. Appearances can be deceiving!
