Kinetic Arts, a New York-based film and digital video production company, is pleased to announce its production partnership with M&M Productions of Copenhagen, Denmark, to produce a feature film based on the 2002 Student Academy Award-winning short film, "Feeding Desire". The announcement was made following a screening of the film at the Fifth Annual Newport International Film Festival in Newport, R.I., where the short is in competition.

"Feeding Desire" is a universally appealing romantic comedy about a man whose marriage is endangered by the fact that he does not have a mistress. So, like anyone in that predicament, he invents one and proceeds to see his life turned upside down.

"We knew immediately after seeing it at the 2002 Clermont-Ferrand film festival that "Feeding Desire" was a winner, and that there was exceptional talent behind the project", says Chris Spanos, one of Kinetic Arts' Managing Partners. Spanos adds, "It's our plan to work hand in hand with the original production team at M&M to bring this clever story to audiences in the U.S. looking for funny, original content."

Mie Andreasen, who produced the short film for M&M Productions and will also serve as one of the producers of the English-language feature, states, "It's exciting to work with Kinetic Arts to bring this story to the American market. We believe that director Martin Strange-Hansen's original film has such strong universal themes, in the vein of American Beauty , that the feature will work perfectly in the U.S."

Kim Magnusson and Mie Andreasen of M&M and Chris Spanos and Alex Twersky of Kinetic Arts will produce the English-language feature version of Feeding Desire. The film is currently in development and is slated to go into production in 2003 with a budget of under U.S. $5 million.
