In December 2004, an Outline sound reinforcement system was installed in the 400-seat multi-function room of Iveco S.p.A., a Brescia, Italy-based member company of the Fiat Group and one of the world’s largest manufacturers of diesel engines and goods vehicles. The audio system – consisting in three Spectra II 9075 loudspeaker enclosures, a Topsub Plus and two Micra II, powered by Outline T4 and T44 digital power amplifiers – is regularly used for conferences by Iveco’s management, but also by public bodies such as Brescia’s municipal and provincial authorities, and various important trade associations.

In line with the philosophy of a multi-function room, as well as these applications, the room is also used by the Group’s staff and their families, who greatly appreciate the sophisticated AV technology installed, particularly for the screening of films in 5.1 Dolby Surround.

The audio equipment was installed by Morix s.r.l. of Brescia, Outline’s exclusive dealer for the Lombardy region. Giancarlo Paladini, technician and co-owner of the firm, commented, “In spite of the room's enormous dimensions, the client wanted the system to be as unintrusive and compact as possible. This is why we chose the modular Outline Spectra. They weigh in at just 30 kg., but are equipped with two 12” woofers and a 3” rotatable driver with a 90° x 75° coverage angle. Installed horizontally, they occupy a height of just 38 cm. and fit in well with various types of surroundings, thanks to their discreetly stylish lines. Speech comes over loud and clear - even in the back rows, 50 yards away - and, thanks to the back-up of the Topsub, the system’s reproduction of music is like that of a high-end set-up, but at 130 dB."
