Adobe, Canon, and Sony to Offer Free Educational Sessions at 8th Annual DIGITAL VIDEO EXPO WEST Conference and Exhibition

SAN FRANCISCO /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- CMP Media's Digital Video Group announced that its 8th annual Digital Video Expo will offer free training sessions to all attendees in major digital video applications from Adobe, Canon and Sony. Returning to the Los Angeles Convention Center from December 5-10, 2004, Digital Video Expo has become one of the West Coast's most important conferences and exhibitions to provide education and information on cutting-edge tools, techniques and technologies to the professional digital video community.

Adobe will bring its popular "Adobe Master Class" series back to Digital Video Expo, to present classes Wednesday, December 8th - Friday, December 10th, including: How To Adjust Your Keyframe Behavior in Adobe After Effects; Adobe Digital intermediate Workflow for Desktop PC's; Advanced Timeline Editing and Effects Techniques in Adobe Premiere Pro; Audio Restoration and Clean Up with Adobe Audition; Beyond the Edit : Adding Adobe After Effects to Your Toolkit; Mastering 3d in After Effects; Soundtrack and Loop Creation with Adobe Audition; Tips and Tricks for Adobe Encore DVD 1.5; Understanding and Editing HDV with Adobe Premiere Pro; Video Secrets of Adobe Photoshop CS,; and Working with Motion Menus in Adobe Encore DVD 1.5.

On December 8th and 9th, Canon will conduct in-depth sessions on their XL2 camera, including a comprehensive look at the wide range of control and creativity that can be achieved. Participants will learn about frame rates, aspect ratios, methods to handle audio and how to create a virtually unlimited number of "looks" with the XL2. Canon will also present an XL2 Panel Discussion at which David Castillo, Senior Technical Representative for Canon Video, and Members of Blue Barn Productions will discuss the how they used the XL2 to create the many looks of the Canon demonstration footage being shown in the Canon booth. They will participate in an open dialog on all aspects of this great new camera.

Sony will be conducting three days of classes from December 8th-10th on such topics as Vegas 5 Software Essentials -- covering the essential tools and creative techniques that make Vegas 5 such a great tool for audio and video production; Vegas 5 Software Advanced Techniques -- exploring some of the advanced tools and techniques available in the ground-breaking feature set of the Vegas application; DVD Authoring with DVD Architect 2 -- covering techniques to create and deliver professional DVDs; and ACID Pro 5 and Sound Forge 7 Software for Video and Film -- exploring methods to sweeten and enhance audio for video, how to create royalty-free professional scores.
