Burbank, Calif.--Desktop Images, a provider of training DVDs for the digital content creation market, today announced the availability of Avid Editing Essentials, a step-by-step instructional DVD for mastering the essential skills of working with Avid's Xpress Pro and Xpress DV editing systems.
Taught by Steve Bayes, former product designer for Avid Technology, this fast and easy four-part DVD training series is designed to cut months off of the Avid learning curve by providing the ultimate visual learning resource and reference guide for Avid Xpress Pro and Xpress DV, as well as Avid Xpress, Media Composer, Media Adrenaline, and Symphony.
"The skills I developed by watching Desktop Images' Avid Editing Essentials DVD series enabled me to land an editor position on Bands Reunited for VH1 and currently The REAL Gilligan's Island for TBS," says Paul Peltekian. "The Avid Editing Essentials DVD series is not just for Xpress DV and Xpress Pro users. I was able to take my knowledge and apply it to Media Composer, Media Composer, Adrenaline, and Symphony."
The four-part series offers more than seven hours of in-depth training that leads participants from the basic concepts of Avid Xpress Pro and Xpress DV editing systems, through mastering Avid's sophisticated toolset.
Desktop Images professionally produces each training series utilizing virtual set technology, which presents the instructor in a virtual 3D environment. By providing a full screen view of the computer's interface, which is inter-cut with close-up views of the screen and keyboard, the user's learning experience is maximized while reducing viewer fatigue. Each DVD includes a time indexed reference card to easily locate subject matter for quick review.
The four-part training series is available now for USD $249.95. Each DVD is also available separately for USD $69.95. The Avid Editing Essentials series is offered for all Avid users including Xpress Pro and Xpress DV, as well as Avid Xpress, Media Composer, Media Composer Adrenaline, and Symphony. The DVDs also include an English subtitle track for the hearing impaired, along with a subtitle track devoted to relevant keyboard shortcuts. Desktop Images' DVDs can be viewed on computer or set-top player. Viewers with DVD-ROM equipped computers can access project files and source footage along with each lesson.
