WHY: At the same time as tickets sales to U.S. and Western Europe cinemas are falling, digital cinema is enabling new forms of cinema in-theater content that can enhance the audience experience and increase earnings for theater owners. If this technology is used wisely it can attract new audiences, if not, as is the case with some advertising, it risks alienating moviegoers. This conference will feature demonstrations of the latest innovations; discussions about technology and bottom-line issues; and present a digital cinema overview. It will also look at how to devise alternative content that appeals to audiences.
