GridIron Software (www.gridironxfactor.com) has introduced GridIron Nucleo, the first productivity enhancement tool for Digital Post-Production that takes full advantage of new multi-processor and multi-core technology.

Nucleo for Adobe After Effects unleashes creativity from the bottleneck of compute time, allowing rich motion graphics and visual effects for film, video, DVD and the Web, to be developed in less time, at less cost.

GridIron Nucleo delivers performance gains never before seen on a single workstation, allowing Adobe After Effects to run in parallel on new multi-core and multi-processor technology. This allows users to realize performance gains of up to 300 percent – effectively speeding up their render and preview activities.

In the past, these types of performance gain have typically only been supported by methods such as grids, clusters and render farms, which are traditionally expensive to buy, build and maintain.

The GridIron Nucleo approach to parallelism is specifically designed to harness the power of multiple processors or multiple cores in a single computer. This revolutionary method bridges the widely acknowledged gap between software and hardware created by the innovation of multiple core processors from companies such as AMD, IBM and Intel. This allows digital post-production professionals to fully utilize the power of their workstations to create motion graphics and visual effects.

GridIron Nucleo also provides users with a seamless user experience that does not dramatically change workflow. With Nucleo, Adobe After Effects Users are able to dramatically reduce the time they spend waiting for renders and previews, unleashing the potential for production to be measured in hours instead of days.

“The Dual-Core AMD Opteron and AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual-Core processors have been designed specifically for intense software applications like those used in digital content creation,” said Charlie Boswell, director of AMD microprocessor business unit for digital media and entertainment. “Nucleo is a valuable enhancement that lets you fully experience the superior power and performance of an AMD multi-core processor when rendering and previewing with After Effects.”

Steve Forde, CEO of GridIron Software, said, “Adobe After Effects was the logical first choice to introduce Nucleo, given its status as the standard in visual effects and motion graphics, in addition to its extremely flexible architecture.

GridIron Nucleo for Adobe After Effects represents the first of many incarnations of Nucleo parallelism in desktop applications because the innovation of multiple core processors is changing how people use computers. Nucleo is leading the market in helping customers realize this revolutionary change, and providing unmatched performance gains never seen before in this industry.”
