HypeFest Announces Short Film Screenplay Competition Call for Entries

Los Angeles, Calif.--HypeFest, the film and video festival that links independent ideas with commercial creativity, has unveiled the Screenplay Competition for its event to be held in Hollywood, Calif., July 29 to 31, 2005. The HypeFest Screenplay Competition recognizes excellence in storytelling for short films.

HypeFest is now accepting original short film screenplays (length 1 to 60 pages). Entrants must send a completed, signed entry form with each submission, which is available online at www.hypefest.com. Screenplays must not have been previously optioned, purchased, or produced.

2004 HypeFest Screenplay Competition winner Amy Roy cheers: "Thanks so much for everything. You guys are doing a great thing through HypeFest. It's nice to have people believe in you." And the 2004 1st runner-up Ned Farr raves: "Thank you for the award! I've never submitted my writing before, so it has given me a boost of confidence to get my words out there. Accolades to you and the rest of the HypeFest crew for putting together such a funky little festival."

Once again, the Writers Store has come on board to furnish prizes to the honorees. Additional prizes to be announced.

Entry Fee: $25. Submission Deadline: April 1, 2005.
