After careful review and an in-depth polling of its membership, Promax/BDA (www.promax.tv) will be returning to New York City for the associations' Promax/BDA Conferences through 2010. Jim Chabin, CEO of the world’s leading organization for promotion, marketing and design professionals in electronic media, revealed that in the history of the association's June shows, its events in New York City have been the most successful in terms of attendance and content, validating the decision to utilize venues in New York City through at least 2010.

“New York is the lifeblood of advertising and promotion and being at the epicenter of that level of activity works wonderfully for our organization,” said Chabin in announcing the organization's long term commitment to the Big Apple. “By holding our annual gathering in New York City for the next five years, we'll have access to an incredible array of talent and can also provide efficient and cost effective travel and accommodation to our global participants.

"New York City also enables us to produce a wealth of exciting seminars, workshops and hands-on demonstrations all designed to enlighten, empower and elevate the professional standing of our members. From the small local station in middle America to the global powerhouses of Europe, everyone agrees that New York City is the place to be."

Promax/BDA's 2006 Conference will be held June 20-22 at the New York Marriott Marquis in Times Square, and then, beginning in 2007, will move to the Hilton New York through 2009.

Chabin, who admitted problems during last June's event at the Marriott Marquis, said that the hotel has worked diligently to upgrade its services and accommodation over the past six months, and that participants will see a marked improvement in many services, including elevators.

The Promax/BDA Board of Directors agreed that by holding the organization's annual gathering in New York City, they are able to attract accomplished top-level executives and the avant-garde talents that fuel the marketing and design industries as well as a greater percentage of its membership. Championing the advantages that New York City provides when hosting a gathering for a worldwide organization, Chabin also announced that Promax/BDA has signed a multi-year agreement with the Hilton New York, and will move its annual Conference there in 2007 and continue with that venue at least through 2009.

Last year's event, for example, drew network leaders such as Disney ABC’s Anne Sweeney, NBC Universal’s Jeff Zucker, PBS’ Pat Mitchell, ESPN’s George W. Bodenheimer, TVLand/Nick at Nite’s Larry Jones, G4’s Charles Hirschhorn, Outdoor Life Network’s Gavin Harvey, as well as A&E’s Artie Scheff and Hallmark Channel’s Chris Moseley, among others. Legendary title designers Pablo Ferro and Kyle Cooper were also in attendance, along with television journalists Bill Moyers and Ted Koppel, entrepreneur Martha Stewart and documentary filmmaker Ken Burns.

Continuing to present its members with insight and demonstrations of the latest developments in technology, the 2005 Promax/BDA Conference also welcomed Microsoft’s J Allard and Electronic Arts’ William H. “Bing” Gordon as speakers addressing the cross over between television and the video game marketing and design. Rounding out the 2005 Conference participants were environmental activist Robert F. Kennedy Jr., stem cell research advocate Ron Reagan, and author and alterative medicine proponent Deepak Chopra.
