MillimeterCall for Tribeca Festival Short Film Fest

Get ready for Tropfest@Tribeca, the exciting collaboration of the largest short film festival in the world and the fastest-growing film festival in North America. Join us this spring during the Tribeca Film Festival for a one-night event featuring eight new shorts made exclusively for Tropfest@Tribeca and eight classic Tropfest shorts.
And we want your help. Whether you’ve made a dozen movies or only dreamt of making one, whether you’re “in the biz” or just have some spare time and a great idea, it’s time to pick up a camera and make a movie.
The most important guideline (this part is mandatory, so pay attention) is that your film must feature the annual Tropfest@Tribeca Signature Item (TSI): a MANHOLE COVER. “What is a TSI?” you ask. It’s just a little something that shows your film was made specifically for Tropfest@Tribeca. You can represent the TSI in any way you choose. We strongly encourage creative interpretations – it can be literal, it can be spoken, it can be anything that gets the TSI in there. Eight finalists will be selected for Tropfest@Tribeca.
Tropfest@Tribeca was created in the spirit of the original Tropfest in Australia to recognize the critical role that short films play in the craft of filmmaking. The program encourages short film production by offering platforms for emerging filmmakers to create innovative works and showcase their films to diverse audiences.
Whether you’re a moviemaker or just a fan, join us during the 5th Tribeca Film Festival, April 25-May 7, for the one-night-only Tropfest@Tribeca program of eight world-premiere shorts along with “The Best of Tropfest,” eight shorts previously screened at Tropfest in Australia.
