American Cinema Editors (ACE) announced the results of its 2005 election at a festive luau at the Pivotal Post facilities in North Hollywood last week. ACE President, Alan Heim made the announcement in front of a packed crowd.

Randy Roberts was elected vice president taking over for outgoing VP, Michael Tronick, who just completed his two-year term. Roberts previously sat on the ACE Board and has served on several committees.

Ed Abroms was re-elected as treasuer. Roberts and Abroms will be working with Christopher Cooke who continues on as secretary, and continuing President Alan Heim. While the president and vice president can only serve two consecutive terms before a mandatory two-year break prior to running for the same post again, all other elected officer positions can serve indefinitely. Officer and board elections are staggered so as never to have an entirely new group serving at the same time.

Jim Stewart is a first-time board member joining returning board members Lillian Benson, Edgar Burcksen, former ACE president Tina Hirsch, Allan Holzman, Stephen Lovejoy, Martin Nicholson, Ted Rich, and Rick Shaine.

Elected to the Associate Board of Directors are Kate Amend, Conrad Gonzalez, Bruce Green, Richard Halsey, and Michael Jablow, who join incumbent board member Harry Miller. The Associate Board members serve as alternates to the Board of Directors members and assume active duty if a board member is unable to fulfill his or her commitment due to professional obligations.
