Associated Production Music (APM), the largest provider of music for use in film, television, radio and new media productions, has introduced the Film and TV Music Podcast to give listeners a chance to hear about news and other developments in the business of sound for picture.
APM, a division of EMI and BMG Music Publsihing, is the first music library to leverage podcasting, a new media format that lets people subscribe to audio and video programming over the net, to build stronger relationships with audiences through innovative, compelling audio programming designed specifically to appeal to film, television, radio and new media music professionals.
“We want to give industry insiders, music supervisors, composers and anyone else interested in music for picture the opportunity to hear about what’s happening in the production music business,” said APM president Adam Taylor. “It’s also a great way for us to let people hear the outstanding quality of our collections.”
The first four episodes of the Film and TV Music podcast focus on the video game music business, featuring exclusive one-on-one interviews with composers Tommy Tallarico (Advent Rising, Tony Hawk Pro Skater), Chance Thomas (King Kong, Lord of the Rings, X-Men), Jack Wall (Myst III & IV, Jade Empire, Splinter Cell: Pandora Tomorrow), Inon Zur (Prince of Persia: The Two Thrones, Men of Valor, Champions of Norrath: Realms of EverQuest), APM President Adam Taylor, Bob Rice of Four Bars Intertainment and others. Listeners will also have the chance to sample some of the tracks created by each of the composers interviewed.
Upcoming podcast episodes will spotlight the trailer music business and feature interviews with motion picture and video game marketing executives, trailer editors and composers who specialize in trailer music and back-end cues.
The Film and TV Music podcast is available at www.apmmusic.com. The program can also be heard on any computer desktop or portable MP3 player. Listeners can download and play the podcast on demand, or subscribe to the RSS feed to receive new episodes automatically as soon as they are released.
The podcast is also available through iTunes, Yahoo! Podcasts, Odeo, Podcast Alley and other podcast syndicates. Listeners are invited to send feedback and suggestions for future episodes to podcasts@apmmusic.com.
