Fujinon announces a distinctive new addition to its industry-leading line of HD telephoto lenses that offers users a great price to performance benefit. To be introduced at NAB 2006 (Booth SU149), the new XA66x9.3ESM fills a gap between Fujinon’s longer (XA72x9.3ESM) and shorter (HA42x9.7ERD) lenses. It also joins Fujinon’s XA101x8.9BESM HD ENG zoom with 101x magnification - the highest zoom ratio available for a TV zoom.

The rugged construction, zoom ratio and advanced optical quality of the new XA66x9.3ESM make it an ideal lens choice for field applications.

“Indoor sports venues such as basketball, hockey, arena football and others don’t require extreme telephoto lenses but need the features of a full studio box type lens,” said Dave Waddell, Marketing Manager, Fujinon’s Broadcast and Communications Product Division. “Other applications such as video production within churches, corporate meetings and concerts will find the price to performance ratio of this lens appealing.”

Fujinon’s new XA66x9.3ESM has a focal length range of 9.3 to 615mm (x1) and 18.6 to 1230mm (x2) and a minimum object distance of 2.7m. It has a maximum relative aperture of 1:1.7 (9.3 to 325mm) and 1:3.2 (615mm) and measures 252mm (h) x 252mm (w) x 644mm (l). The XA66x9.3ESM offers additional features including digital controls, advanced back focus and optional macro function.

The XA66x9.3ESM will be available shortly after the NAB show.
