MillimeterGefen Introduces 8x1 DVI Switcher

Gefen ups the number of DVI sources its line of switchers can support with the release of its new 8x1 DVI switcher.
The rack-mountable unit supplies eight DVI inputs, one DVI output, and eight DVI cables that allow eight separate HD video or computer sources to be viewed on any HDTV or computer display equipped with DVI.
Switching between sources is controlled by IR remote or using RS232 control. Seamless switching occurs in mere seconds. HDCP compliance for HD video is supported in resolutions up to 1080p and computer resolutions up to 1920x1200.
The unit works with all DVI sources, including digital camcorders, DVD players, satellite TV systems, computers, and digital video recorders, and all DVI displays including Apple's line of Cinema Displays (20in. and 23in.).
Gefen's 8x1 DVI switcher (EXT-DVI-841) is designed to deliver professional-quality HDTV switching capabilities for audio/video pros and enthusiasts alike. Priced at $899, the unit is expected to begin shipping in May.
