Panasonic Broadcast announced today the availability of the compact, AV-HS300G SD/HD live switcher. The multi-format AV-HS300G is a great performer for live event productions such as church programs, cable shows, conferences, seminars and more.

Whether using SD or HD, the AV-HS300G is compatible with major formats around the world (1080/59.94i, 1080/50i, 720/59.94p, 720/50p, 480/59.94i (NTSC) and 576/50i (PAL). Designed to provide high-quality broadcast switching that fits into mid- to low-level production budgets, the universal format AV-HS300G is ideal for sports and church productions, educational and training facilities, music videos, cable shows, corporate videos, as well as broadcast facilities transitioning from SD to HD.

With a compact, one-piece design and a 12V DC power supply, the AV-HS300G fits easily into small production vans and remote trucks and offers a highly portable switching solution for field production.

The switcher comes with six inputs (five HD/SD SDI and one DVI/RGB), three HD/SD SDI outputs and an Ethernet connection to import and store a background from a PC. HD analog component outputs are also standard.

Additional features include a tally output, RS-422 control and a built-in, 10-bit, 6-channel frame synchronizer that adjusts automatically (external genlock synchronization available also), and nine wipe patterns with three directional wipes.

The AV-HS300G is available at a suggested list price of $7,990. A five-input HD Analog Component Option board will be available in January 2007 at a suggested list price of $1,990.
