VBrick Systems has announced that it is adding Windows Media support to its solutions that allow organizations to record, distribute, and manage digital content. VBrick’s seamless support for Windows Media and multiple MPEG standards lets users choose the appropriate digital video format for each distinct business application requirement.
VBrick has introduced the VB6000 WM. This compact VBrick appliance provides unparalleled streaming simplicity and reliability, enabling users to deliver live video virtually anywhere. The economical VB6000 WM is easily configured to stream digital video in minutes.
Traditionally, IT managers have been saddled by requirements to deploy video capture cards, multiple servers, and desktop software to enable networked video. The VB6000 WM provides industrial strength capture and delivery, combined with centralized management for enterprise-wide digital video applications, thereby eliminating much of the complexity involved in distributing digital video.
"As streaming video is used increasingly to broadcast events online and improve communication within businesses, organizations require plug-and-play streaming capabilities to broadcast internal presentations across multiple sites, add multimedia to the classroom, and support business operations," said Sean Lynch, president, Videoconference Solutions Inc. "The new VBrick VB6000 WM appliance provides reliable video streaming while enabling organizations to expand their Microsoft ecosystem capabilities seamlessly."
The VB6000 WM also integrates seamlessly with the VBrick EtherneTV Media Distribution System, a turnkey platform to record, distribute, and manage digital video across IP networks. (In a concurrent release, VBrick has also announced EtherneTV 3.0.) VBrick will continue to expand its capabilities for Windows Media.
VBrick's new appliance for Windows Media provides the performance and ease-of-use features required for ubiquitous video delivery.
The VB6000 WM:
- Delivers a single live Windows Media audio/video broadcast (multicast) to all network users using a single VBrick appliance. Stream to all employees without bandwidth constraints.
- Supports up to 200 separate (unicast) Windows Media sessions, allowing delivery of live video virtually anywhere.
- Delivers live, high-quality audio/video to existing desktops and compatible personal digital assistants (PDAs), set-top boxes, and other devices without additional plug-in or player requirements.
- Scales digital video distribution capabilities by delivering a single video stream to a Windows Media server in both “push” and “pull” modes.
- Sets up and configures video streams within minutes.
- Delivers one or two audio/video channels.
