Nov 4, 2003 12:00 PM, Press Release
Alias Systems, a Silicon Graphics Inc. company, announced today Expose Yourself, the upcoming contest for digital artists who use Alias SketchBook Pro, the innovative sketching tool for Tablet PC's and Wacom tablets. From Nov. 17, 2003, until Feb. 13, 2004, artists, illustrators, and designers can submit their sketches at www.sketchbookpro.com/contest, have them viewed by an extensive online community and judged for a collection of valuable prizes. The Expose Yourself contest is sponsored by Microsoft, Acer, Wacom, PC Mall, and Intel.
Expose Yourself is the first contest to award the creative work of tablet-using digital artists. Comic artist Dale Keown, best known for The Incredible Hulk comic book and Gray Holland, founder of the industrial design firm Alchemy Labs will judge the submissions. Judging will be based on originality as well as the artist's use of colors, layers, brushes, and backgrounds.
The grand-prize winner of the contest will receive a copy of Alias SketchBook Pro, Microsoft Office for Window XP Tablet PC Edition, an Acer 300 Tablet PC, and a Wacom Cintiq Tablet. They will also have their creative talents profiled in a U.S.-based creative magazine. Monthly prizes include copies of Alias SketchBook Pro, Microsoft Office XP, and Rover MP3 players.
A free 15-day trial version of Alias SketchBook Pro is available for download at www.alias.com/sketchbookpro for all artists, designers, and illustrators who wish to begin working on their contest entries immediately.
