Honors Industry-Wide Excellence in DVD

Hollywood, Calif. -- The 6th Annual DVD Entertainment Conference & Showcase has issued its call for entries in competition for the annual DVD Awards with Leonard Maltin. The prestigious honors will be presented August 20, 2003 at the Hilton Universal City by host renowned film critic and historian Leonard Maltin, co-host of the weekly syndicated television show Hot Ticket.

A panel of respected industry journalists will judge DVDs released during the past year in an assortment of categories. Nominees in each category will be announced one month prior to the award ceremony. Then the judges will proceed to select winners in each category from the nominated titles. Meanwhile, visitors to several DVD-related Web sites will vote for the Viewers' Choice Award. All awards will be handed out at the event on August 20, 2003.

The DVD Awards are produced by the International Recording Media Association (IRMA) and Medialine magazine, a publication of United Entertainment Media (UEM).
