Connect HD Bundle to Include Vegas 4.0 From Sony Media Software
LOS ANGELES, CA, DV EXPO – CineForm, Inc. is announcing Connect HD, a high-performance high-definition (HD) accelerator for Microsoft Windows-based video-editing applications.CineForm is also announcing that the first video editing application to be bundled with Connect HD is the highly acclaimed Vegas 4.0 software from Sony Media Software, the combination of which forms a comprehensive solution for editing HD video.
Connect HD will be available for purchase stand alone, or as a bundle that includes Vegas 4.0 software. Connect HD, together with the award-winning Aspect HD—already shipping, are the industry’s only total editing solutions for HDV-formatted video.
Connect HD’s editing performance is based on the same patent-pending video-processing technology that powers its real-time sibling, Aspect HD. The technology is built on CineForm’s visually-lossless high-definition editing codec, CFHD, which provides unmatched performance and visual quality for high-definition post-production applications.
Connect HD maintains the identical AVI file format used in Aspect HD, which guarantees compatibility with industry-leading video editing applications like Sony’s Vegas software, as well as other Windows AVI-compatible applications including Adobe After Effects and Windows Media Player. In addition, Connect HD includes HDLink, CineForm’s I/O software that connects PCs with HDV-compatible camcorders and DVHS decks.
Aspect HD, for high-end video professionals, includes all the technology in Connect HD, and adds CineForm’s real-time video pipeline which provides dozens of real-time transitions, color effects, graphic overlays, motion, and more, all within Adobe Premiere.

Pricing and Availability
Connect HD is available from CineForm and select resellers beginning January 19th, 2004 and is available in two versions: Connect HD stand alone for the suggested retail price of $499 or as a bundle that includes Vegas software from Sony Media Software for $799. Both Connect HD and Aspect HD are being demonstrated at DV Expo here in Los Angeles this week in both the JVC and Core Microsystems booths.
