David Van Allen is an MCAI and NATAS affiliated visual effects artist, compositor, and animator with a background in fine arts—earning degrees from both Munson Williams Proctor Institute of Fine Art and The University of the Arts. Software proficiencies include Autodesk Combustion, Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, NewTek Lightwave, wondertouch ParticleIllusion, and Sapphire plug-ins.
Van Allen claims to be a "jack of all trades" and usually has a hand in every aspect of production—with 70 percent of his Reel-Exchange demo reel created by him, and him alone. Project work includes national and local commercials, television news and sports, corporate video, and indie films—specifically for clients including the Discovery Channel, VH1, Toyota, Sony Ericsson, and much more.
