Background file reconstruction eliminates costly downtime. Price: $1,200 (800GB)
Better-priced storage
Buying a high-quality RAID array becomes a better deal as drives and drive electronics prices drop. G-Technology's new lines of protected FireWire 800 RAID systems are a good example. For starters, according to company president Roger Mabon, the G-RAID Pro is the industry's first RAID-protected, realtime storage solution to feature a high-speed FireWire 800 interface. Features include the playback of three simultaneous layers of uncompressed video hardware, hardware RAID3 controller, storage capacities of up to 2TB using five hot-swap disk drive modules, setup and monitoring via simple GUI, email notification of drive failure, and an all-aluminum enclosure.
